Will Young, Agyness Deyn, Elen Rivas and Michel Roux Jr in London marathon this year, were known to take part.The singer 32 years old was running on behalf of young people's mentoring scheme Catch 22 and hoped to inspire young people by taking part, even before running very confident as he was walking with an injured knee not Was.
Will said: "You haven't seen me run yet and I do run a little like I need the loo, but I'm trying my best."
He added: "I've been a patron with Catch 22 for a year and we've got about 150 places around the country for young people, largely concentrated in metropolises and we catch young people, at a crucial time, when their lives can go one way or the other.
"I think adults have a choice, young people sometimes don't have a choice.
"It's changed my life, I'm vehemently passionate about it. I think young people get a tough time in society sometimes. I don't think the values promoted are always the best values for young people and I'm really proud to be a patron for them."
Will finished the marathon in just over four hours, despite telling the BBC he had developed a "devil cramp" at 24 miles, but said he felt "elated".
Model Agyness ran with fashion designer friend Henry Holland to raise money for Oxfam. Henry three hours, 28 minutes and 59 seconds ended.
Agyness tweeted: "Running the marathon is such a powerful experience which digs deep into the soul of your being. I highly recommend!"
